Marian Tucker and Brenda Rocci started working CW4R officially at the end of September 2018. Within days, we had over 20 volunteers and countless requests to donate money. We incorporated as a 501(c)3 on Nov. 1, 2018. By the end of that year, we had raised $49.000. In 2019, we raised over triple that amount. Nearly 95% of funds raised during that time went directly to helping victims of Hurricane Florence.

We secured several grants but the majority of our funding was received through local, private funding. With this experience under us and our hearts dedicated to service, we are excited to expand our work and provide large scale disaster recovery assistance in Eastern North Carolina.

To date, CW$R has helped over 500 families. We have done intake ourselves and partnered with organizations like Reach Global, the Salvation Army, the Carteret County Public Schools Foundation, and various churches and government agencies.
